SCALE  is a dynamic skills platform designed to bridge the gap between student talent and employer needs.
 

SCALE allows students to store verified digital badges representing skills, competencies, and coursework, while employers can post job openings that specify required or preferred skills. The true innovation happens when employers integrate SCALE badges into their job postings. If a student's earned credentials align with a job’s criteria, both the student and employer are instantly notified of the match.

This entire process is powered by Canvas; the statewide learning management system (LMS) used across all 116 California community colleges. As students complete graded assignments, competencies, or courses, their achievements are automatically issued as digital badges through Canvas Credentials and stored in a personal electronic backpack – ready to match with relevant opportunities on SCALE.
